How soon should amoxicillin trihydrate to start working?

My 7 month old was filled up and wheezing,hardly breath through nose when drinking,runny nose,slight cough and runny eyes. Took her to outpatients friday night they gave her a dose before we left shes been taking 3 doses a day 3mL each and its now tuesday and shes still filled up and sounds wheezy when she breathes. The doc on-call said she had the start of bronchitis. Yesterday I had my 3year old to the outpatients she has been coughing and bringing up green stuff,fever and filled up in the chest with a slight runny nose and the doctor on-call also put her on the same medicine for being filled up in the chest... Could this be asthma related. both kids have a father that has/has asthma in the past OR could it be caused by unseen mold as well??? thanks so much
