How do I show someone its ok to be gay?

We are both teenagers and I am openly gay, and my friend is really deep in the closet or in denial but he is defintely biual or gay because he has had with a guy on numerous occasions. He is turning towards bullsh!t evangelical christianity he says to make him a better person but i know hes trying to change himself but its changing him and Im really afraid. How do I show him its ok to to be gay, and get him to stop this nonsense!
