How can I get rid of this cold?

Ok now ever since sunday when I woke up that morning I've been congested, sore throat, and obviously a headache FYI: I am a type 1diabetic and have tried taking Day and NyQuil since sunday but I don't think I've felt any relief so I tried buying tylenol day & night multi symptom pills and I don't think those are working either and bought chloraseptic cough drops for my sore throat and they work a little but the taste is nasty so.... and later today I'm gonna see my bf really quick and don't wanna get him sick from kissing So does anyone please please please have any suggestions to help me get over this cause I really feel crappy for four days now so please anything to make me feel better Thank you!!!
