Does anyone still think there is a connection between Saddam and Al-Qaeda?

There was news coverage in 2002 (before the Iraq fiasco) that stated this fact that Iraq and Al Qaeda were not connected in any way. Unfortunately, the mainstream media were all beating the drums about an impending conflict and ignored the few reporters who were questioning this policy. The worst violator of promoting falsehoods was Judith Miller with the NY Times, who relied on Ahmad Chalabi as an anonymous source for her information. She continued to falsely claim that Iraq had WMD's and was supporting bin Laden. Those of us who were extremely skeptical sought other news outlets (Knight-Ridder was excellent in 2002-2003). We can only hope the next time a president and his cronies start talking about mushroom clouds and imminent threats, the American people will ask for verifiable proof.
