African safari?

Hi can any one give me some info concerning an african safari.I know different providers will have different setups bit im just trying to get a general indication of what it would be like. Ive looked at some brochures and am wondering about whats involved with camping hotels etc.. I would be going with my girlfriend would it be possible to have a two man tent for the two of us or a double room in hotels.Are they fun and relaxing,i dont mind pitching in but i wanna relax at some stage. Just any general info that would give me an idea of the nature of the tour would be appreciated Thanks
